Spanish Official Exams
The CCSE test consists of two main sections:
- Government, legislation and citizen participation in Spain (60% of the questions).
- Spanish culture, history and society (40% of questions).
Any person of any nationality over the age of 18 who wishes to obtain Spanish nationality can take the test.

The registration fee for the CCSE test in 2022 is 85 euros. This price includes the examination fee, the issue of the qualification certificate, and access to all preparation materials, including the CCSE test preparation manual.
Registration for the CCSE test entitles the candidate to take the test up to a maximum of two times. This only applies in the event that a candidate fails the test at the first attempt, or did not take the test at the first sitting.
Registration, and the corresponding payment for the CCSE test, must be done online, after registration, in the private section of the Cervantes website.
